Viniyoga was developed by T. Krishnamacharya (who was also teacher to BKS Iyengar and Patabhi Jois in their youth) and refined by his son TKV Desikachar. It is a breath-centered vinyasa style of yoga that includes asana (postures), pranayama (breathing practices), bhavana (visualization), and other tools of yoga, such as Vedic chanting, nyasa (hand movements/placements), and others.
This class will introduce students to a meditative style of practice beneficial to those with an overactive mind or who have other conditions that lead to or result from an overactive nervous system, such as anxiety or insomnia.
